Call received from 408-692-5819 stating I have been selected randomly (sic) by the US Govt Grants Department for a $9000 loan which I never have to pay back! The caller went on to ask how I wished to receive it! As if it's so easy to get 9000 bucks sitting at home! Who wouldn't want 9000?! But this is a scam! SCAM! Take care!!

Got a voicemail about a free government grant that has been awarded to me! To get the money I need to call 206-736-6950. I have never applied for a grant! This is some sort for a scam. The accent is not clean, too!

Govt. departments will never call someone and inform that a grant has been approved. If you have NOT submitted an application for a government grant and someone claims you have been awarded one, it’s a scam. Grant money is not given over the phone for a fee. If you have submitted an application for a government grant and someone claims you have been awarded one, it’s still a scam. You will be informed of your award by a letter which you will receive by mail. You will also be able to see the Award Status at: www .grants.gov/web/grants/applicants/track-my-application.html
